A Merry Muddy Christmas and a Snowy New Year

6 January 2009
Happy Holidays to everyone! First of all, we did have a very muddy Christmas. It rained about two days before so it's was nice and nasty. It didn't actually snow on New Years, but it was supposed to. We had a 'weather system' moving in and it was supposed to drop to about 28 overnight, but then the storm broke up before it got to us and it warmed up a bit. So unfortunately it was just a cold boring day like all my other Birthdays.
Christmas here was fun. The Dining Facility was all decorated, we even had Santa stop by for a photo op! The food was just like Thanksgiving, but it was still good. Work was a little relaxed too so on the plus side it was a slow day.
New Years was a little busier. Sometimes we just can't help the work cycle but it still wasn't too bad. Not a whole lot else to report. It's cold here, way colder than I thought it'd get. Cold's relative though because it's -40 in Fairbanks right now, but it's still nice that it's wintery.
